Measuring our impact on the planet.
In 2023 we began looking at how we operate as a business and how we can ensure our core values are embedded in our day-to-day actions and future plans.
At the start of the year, we began measuring our impact on the environment, a process that is ongoing. We decided to fund climate projects through Ecologi as well as working to reduce our emissions – you may have noticed the link to follow our progress appear in the bottom of our email signatures.
That’s why this Christmas we donated to Ecologi’s climate impact projects by funding the planting of 50 trees. The trees are being planted by Trees for the Future and Clinton Development Initiative in Tanzania, you can learn more about the project here.
How else are we changing our business for the better?
We’ve always used renewable energy, through Bulb and then Octopus Energy
Our bank account has also always been ethical, and our pension providers invest in green funds only
We’ve changed the way we search online. Instead of Google we all use Ecosia, a B Corporation which invests 100% of its profits in profits in climate action. The more you search the more trees Ecosia plants – we love to see the number of trees we’ve planted increase as we search! Ecosia is easy to add to your browser or download for your phone.
We’ve also begun reviewing our suppliers' green credentials to ensure we are working alongside companies with similar values
Charly has completed the Green Skills for Small Business Course delivered by Small Business Britain. A helpful and insightful programme with a community of like-minded people learning about sustainability in business and doing good
So what’s next?
The actions above are just the start. Change takes time and we’re committed to making these changes to support our world, our community and our business.
Keep an eye on our socials for updates as we go, we’d love you to join our journey.
And if you’d like to start your own climate action through Ecologi, you can join us here. (Not an advert, but Ecologi will plant five trees for you if you sign up with that link.)
